What changes in AI.
What it changes for you.

2 stories · 4-minute read

Your brand becomes AI memory. And the agent gets rules.

Just two stories, with sources we opened and read. One helps you stop resending your logo and colors every time you ask for artwork. The other is for when you want to delegate tasks to an AI agent without losing control of what it does in your name.

Gemini can now keep your business's visual identity on file

Have you ever asked for artwork for this week's post and had to send your logo, colors and font all over again? On Oct 20, Google announced a Gemini package for small businesses that targets that repetition. You upload your website, brand kit, fonts or palette once, and Gemini keeps the style for later image requests, which use Nano Banana 2.1, Google's image model. The package also adds a central business page and reads spreadsheets, receipts and purchase records, turning them into charts and interactive models. Gemini can connect to Google Business Profile, Google Ads and Workspace, plus Adobe, Canva, Dropbox, Shopify, Wix, Zoho and Xero. According to Google, the rollout starts in the coming days, worldwide, for Gemini app users. What changes in practice: for people who do their own communications, the costly part is usually re-explaining the brand with every request. If the style really stays saved, a baker or a mechanic can ask for three versions of a promo poster without rebuilding everything. For finances, the promise is turning a folder of invoices and receipts into a chart you can read, as long as the numbers are checked. Limits: Search Engine Watch noted that the announcement does not spell out subscription requirements or usage allowances for each connection, and that the June rollout of the Business Profile connection excluded the European Economic Area and the UK. Brazil appears among Google's examples, but that does not guarantee your account already has the feature. We also did not test the package: the quality of the artwork, the text inside images and the spreadsheet math all need human checking.

Our take: in 15 minutes, gather a logo, two colors, two fonts and three posts that represent your brand well in one folder. When the feature shows up in your account, upload that material, ask for three designs and check every word and every price before publishing.

Before giving the agent the keys, agree on the rules

Have you ever handed a new employee the shop keys without agreeing on what they can do alone? AI agents are reaching that point. On Oct 21, Anthropic introduced Claude Duet, an agent that watches your connected apps, sends a morning brief and works in the background on a cloud computer. According to the company, it reads and drafts on its own, but shows what it is about to do and waits for your approval before sending a message, paying, signing or deleting anything. Trading securities, moving money between accounts and accessing someone else's account stay off-limits even if you approve. It is a research preview, by waitlist, starting with Pro and Max subscribers in the US, and background work uses your plan's limits. The next day, 1Password announced a platform for agents: when the agent reaches a login, it asks for the credential, you approve it and the vault fills in the password without the agent seeing it. The company lists compatible agents, Duet among them, but marks the Duet integration as “coming soon,” and Anthropic itself describes it as something to come. The feature is free, at no additional cost, for Individual and Family accounts, and does not yet work on .eu and .ca accounts. TechCrunch, which covered the launch, adds context: US banks are already detecting agent activity in customer accounts and, according to the report, many cannot tell whether the account owner asked for it. For a small business, the lesson holds even if you are not on that waitlist: the risk is not the agent getting an answer wrong, it is acting wrongly in your name. An email to the wrong customer or a duplicate charge costs more than a bad draft. Anthropic itself admits that too many approval requests wear people out and make them tap through without thinking. So agree on a few clear rules instead of approving everything. A 15-minute routine for delegating to any agent safely: 1. List what the agent touches: email, calendar, billing, customer spreadsheet. 2. Sort each action into three lanes: free (read, summarize, draft), needs approval (send, pay, sign, delete) and forbidden (move money, touch customer accounts). 3. Grant access through a password vault or per-task approval, never by pasting a password into the chat. 4. Start with the free lane only for one week and note what it did and what you corrected. 5. Only then unlock one approval action at a time. Limit: the main sources are the vendors themselves, and TechCrunch does not assess product security. There is no independent assessment of the controls, the Duet and 1Password integration is not available yet and we tested nothing ourselves.

Our take: before granting access, write the three lanes on a sheet and keep it next to your computer. If you cannot say what the agent never does alone, you are not ready to delegate.

Take one idea into today.

Test in your business (20 min; cost: none, just paper and a pen). Prerequisite: a task you already delegate or would like to delegate to an AI. Steps: write the task at the top of a sheet, draw three columns (free, needs approval, forbidden) and place each action in one. Use only fictional or low-risk data. Hypothetical example, not anyone's result: a shop that lets the AI draft customer replies but never send them. Success criterion: you can explain every line on the sheet to a partner without hesitating. Then note four things: the real task, what worked, where it broke and your verdict.
